Limitless Schools Project

We are delighted to be working with seven Renfrewshire schools to create two exciting performances which will be performed at Johnstone Town Hall this October.

The project will bring around 250 pupils together to create a large-scale, visual performance entitled Limitless. Featuring a score of original songs, the performance will be themed around an inspiring message about creating the best version of yourself and celebrating the diversity of talents of those around you.

Pupils from Bredilands, Cochrane Castle, Heriot, Glencoats, St David’s, St Fergus and West Primary Schools began rehearsals with PACE practitioners in September. Each school will devise their own section of the show before coming together to perform as a group in the finale, giving an opportunity for the schools to work together.

The schools will create two separate performances, performed over two days, 28 and 29 October. Each performance would be performed twice (matinée and evening performance) for an audience of family and friends.

Angela Orr, Associate Director (performance) at PACE said:

“Limitless is an ambitious project and we’re really excited to be bringing together so many young people to introduce them to the magic of theatre, and for them to experience the joy of taking part in a performance on this scale.

“We believe that through this project we can boost confidence and self-esteem, encourage collaboration skills and allow each young person to explore their own creative potential. By creating a platform for them to share this with family and friends, we hope to create an experience that will stay in their memories for years to come.”

Limitless is generously supported by Renfrewshire Council’s Culture, Heritage and Events Fund (CHEF), which seeks to harness the power of culture to make people’s lives better throughout Renfrewshire.

Councillor Lisa-Marie Hughes, Chair of Renfrewshire Leisure said: “One of the main objectives of the Culture, Heritage and Events Fund is to increase opportunities for young people to develop their creative ambition.

“I’m pleased to see that so many of our Renfrewshire school pupils will benefit through taking part in Limitless, highlighting the positive contribution that culture and creativity can make to education and wellbeing.”
