We’re excited to confirm that after nearly four years in our pop-up creative learning space in The Paisley Centre, we will be moving to a permanent base in the former Abbey House building in the town centre.
The Kiln Creative Learning Hub in Seedhill Road, in the heart of Paisley, sits on the historic site of Kilnside House and will house 6 studio spaces including a dedicated early-years space for 0-5, our offices and a small-scale creative learning performance space. This will eventually allow us to bring our wide-ranging programme of workshop activity together under one roof, as well as being fully accessible (lift access to all floors) and offering convenient on-site parking and cycle racks.
Jenni Mason, Artistic Director of PACE says:
“This move feels like a real step forward for our young people and everything we want to achieve with our activities. Having a space that’s designed with our needs in mind means we can be more ambitious, more creative, and more inclusive in the work we make together. We’re incredibly excited to start this next chapter in a venue that matches the energy and potential of everyone involved.”
We also hope this will create opportunities for collaboration with other local arts organisations, as well as opportunities for hire of rehearsal and theatre spaces at competitive rates, with significant discounts for emerging artists for development or non-funded work, local charitable and arts organisations and others.
The building is expected to be ready for our summer activity, Fest!, with plans to transition much of our youth theatre activity there by the time the new YT year begins in late August.
The Kiln is separate from the ongoing Exchange Theatre capital project, which is being developed as a professional producing and receiving theatre venue for young people, families and the local community, which we recently updated on HERE.
This move marks an exciting new chapter for PACE, reinforcing its commitment to cultural regeneration and providing high-quality creative opportunities for young people across Paisley and beyond.
